Andrew Johnstone (1933-2015) was an MI6 officer sought by Irish police during the Wyman affair in the early 1970s (ref 1, p.221).

Early life

Johnstone was born on 20 September 1933 (ref 2, p.308). His father was a journalist and his mother an opera singer (ref 3). He was educated at Pinewood School and Marlborough College, after which he embarked on a motorbike tour of Europe in 1949-50, learning French and German at the University of Strasbourg and the Sorbonne (ref 3).
