Early 1980s grouping of organisations representing US intelligence professionals
The Common Interest Network (CIN) was an informal grouping of organisations working to defend the US intelligence community in the wake of the Congressional investigations of the mid-1970s. CIA historian Thomas Troy described the network as 'an unofficial intelligence community' (cited in ref 1, p.2).
