Really enjoyed this one Tom! If you liked Anne Cadwallader’s Lethal Allies, check out The Committee by Sean McPhilemy. It’s all about collusion and political assassination in Northern Ireland. Not sure where to buy it though, as I think it was banned in some countries. I’ve had my copy for over 20 years. In his book he talks about the Dublin-Monaghan bombings and the involvement of loyalist Robin Jackson, who was working for Army Intelligence and RUC Special Branch. Keep up the great work!

Thanks, Dan, I have a copy of The Committee that I got in a book fair at the Hammersmith Irish Centre years ago. It's a long time since I looked at it but I remember wonder if some of McPhilemy's sources weren't playing a double game with some of the less verifiable stuff. I think Lethal Allies stands up better to critical attack in that respect, and that may be part of why Operation Denton exists.

Yes, you’re probably correct. McPhilemy’s book is littered with ‘my source is willing to stand up in court if any liable cases arise’. I kind of got the feeling that maybe he himself didn’t trust some of the sources and wanted some accountability from them when the inevitable questions were asked. Operation Denton is fascinating. The Glenanne Gang have a lot to answer for, but I guess time’s running out, as many of those involved would be pretty old by now.
