The Palestinian General Intelligence Service (GIS) is an intelligence agency reporting to the president of the Palestinian Authority (PA). It’s roles include intelligence collection, liaison and counter-espionage. It has its own paramilitary forces and has been used against political opponents of the PA leadership.1
